Responsibly Sourced Cedar
At Mukilteo Cedar & More, we believe in building beautiful, lasting products without compromising the forests that inspire them. As a company that proudly works with cedar—a resource deeply rooted in the Pacific Northwest—we recognize our responsibility to support practices that protect and preserve old growth forests for future generations.
Our Cedar Sourcing Commitment

While we are not a certified sustainable operation, we are proactively working to align our sourcing practices with responsible forestry standards. This includes:
-
Prioritizing suppliers who follow FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) standards or comparable third-party sustainability benchmarks.
-
Favoring cedar harvested from second-growth forests whenever viable for our products.
-
Avoiding sourcing from high-risk, unregulated old growth logging operations when we have clear alternatives.
-
Maintaining long-term relationships with mills and suppliers who share our values of environmental stewardship and transparency.
Looking Forward

-
Partnerships with mills that are Indigenous-owned or operated, especially those promoting culturally rooted and ecologically sound practices.
-
Efficient use of offcuts and scrap to reduce waste and extend the usefulness of every piece of wood we use (this is literally the birthplace of our business and brings us great joy).
-
Increased traceability and customer transparency in our supply chain.
Our goal is not just to craft products that last, but to ensure the forests they come from do too.
